Patey Bowler Hat
Patey subscribe to the view that when Edward Coke the nephew of the 1st. Earl of Leicester collected his hat around 1850 he quickly stamped on it to ensure it was strong enough. The hat was then called ‘The Coke’ and as it was made by Bowlers of London an antecedent of Patey it received sobriquet ‘Bowler’ initially and still used to protect heads in the equestrian field. The Bowler was ‘the hat that one the West’ very popular because it was strong resilient hard wearing and safe. Patey Bowlers are bespoke and made to order.
